Year 4’s Digestive System Adventure!

Year 4 had a fascinating, hands-on science lesson exploring the amazing journey of food through the human digestive system!

The children got actively involved in bringing the process to life. They became the teeth, breaking up the food before transferring it down the oesophagus and into the stomach. There, they got stuck into squeezing, squashing and mixing the food and drink to demonstrate how our stomach muscles work!

We then followed the journey through the intestines, discovering how nutrients are absorbed and how waste makes its way out of the body.

There was plenty of excitement, curiosity and a few giggles along the way! What a fantastic way to learn about the incredible things our bodies do every single day!
