The coronation

This week we have been doing lots of learning around the King's coronation. We are very excited to be having our own celebrations at school; including a 'red, white and blue' day, singing our own coronation song for friends and family members, and a coronation themed obstacle course!

Here are some of the things the children have been discussing in class:

'Part of the crown he will wear is purple and it looks soft.'

'The coronation means a celebration when a King or Queen gets crowned.'

'There will be a parade for the King.'

'The King is a Grandad.'

'In London, some people will watch him in the church.'

'He's getting crowned in London. He lives in Buckingham Palace.'

'Lots of people will be watching.'

'The King will have to sit on a throne.'

'I'd feel nervous if I was getting crowned with all those people watching me.'

'I would feel excited to be getting crowned.'

'I wonder how heavy the crown is? Does he have to wear it to bed?'
