Science Week 2025

This week is Science Week.
Today we listened to different people talk about their jobs related to animals. We heard from Vets and Vet Nurses some of whom are still training. We learnt that vets and vet nurses work in a wide range of places and with a massive range of animals! We learnt that they work on farms, Science labs and even the airport! Can you guess which animal is the only animal that can not go on a plane? Ask Year 3 to find out!

On Thursday we took part in a STEM webinar about 'Our Amazing Sun'. We learnt lots about how old the sun is and that it is 149,000,000km away from the Earth. We also looked at photos and videos of our galaxy. We learnt about how the sun affects our seasons and weather and creates rainbows and the northern lights! We are really excited to try and see these this year.

On Friday we took part in astronaut training with Tim Peak! We learnt about the importance of exercising whilst in microgravity and thought about a nutritious meal we would like to take into space. We even learnt how to go to the toilet in the international space station!
