Minibeast Hunt - 10th May 2024

In Class F we have been learning about constrasting environments and habitiats. We have discussed how animals adapt to their environment and their habitiats. We found out that a habitat needs to have food and water nearby, a place to shelter and a place to raise young. We have been looking at African animals and Antartic/Artic animals and their differences.

We decided to look at a closer environment - our beautiful school field - and went on a minibeast hunt. First we thought about habitats where we might look, in trees, on flowers, under and in logs and under pots and stones. We considered that some minibeasts like to be out in the sun and some like to be in the cool and damp. We were very excited with our finds - we found, millipedes, woodlice, spiders, beetles, a bee, a butterly, worms, slugs, snails and lots of other mini- beasts.

It was a very successful mini beast hunt!
