Micro-habitats

Over the past few weeks, Year 1/2 have been learning about biomes in their science lessons. We have been exploring different habitats and how animals have adapted to live there. This week, we have been learning about microhabitats and loved exploring our outside area to hunt for different minibeasts! We had to make sure we used careful hands to pick up the minibeasts and returned them to where we found them. We recorded what we found and the type of microhabitat we found them in; leaf litter, rotten wood, under stones, in a crack or crevasse or under a log. We then looked for patterns in our recordings to begin to analyse the data we collected.
