Climate and geography learning

Our Key Stage 1 children have been embarking on an exciting journey around the globe as part of their geography learning. They've been discovering the differences between hot and cold countries, exploring how climate varies across the world, and learning about the equator and its role in shaping global temperatures.

Using maps and globes, pupils have been comparing countries near the equator with those closer to the poles, identifying key features and discussing different climates. This hands-on approach helps them build a strong understanding of geography while sparking curiosity about the wider world.

From snowy landscapes to sandy deserts, our young explorers are developing the skills to locate, compare, and describe places across the planet — laying the foundation for a lifelong love of learning about Earth and its diverse environments.
