Year 6 inspires climate play in Key Stage 1

This week, our Year 1 and Year 2 children enjoyed a very special visit from Year 6, who came to share some fantastic games they had created as part of their climate and sustainability research project with Hayley from Plymouth University.
The games included climate-themed snakes and ladders, matching activities, trivia quizzes, and wordsearches — all designed to help pupils learn about important issues in a fun and engaging way. Alongside the games, Year 6 also shared their knowledge about climate change, plastic pollution in our oceans, how we can live more sustainably, and the challenges faced by endangered species.
Our younger learners had a brilliant and informative afternoon, full of curiosity and excitement. A huge thank you to Year 6 for inspiring us all with your creativity, passion, and commitment to protecting our planet.
