Y5 Art Day

Today, we studied the work of Cornwall’s artist Kurt Jackson. He is a dedicated environmentalist who lives at StJust. His artwork is a celebration of the environment and shows its diversity. As a class, we looked at a selection of his artwork and discussed his use of colour and how different elements of the picture were represented. We decided we would use a mixture mediums to create our pictures - chalk, charcoal, pastels and watercolours. The children chose which picture they would like to do from a selection of locations across North Cornwall; ranging from beaches and coastlines to riverscapes. I know I’m biased, but I think they are amazing…the children were pretty pleased with them too! :) Super well done Class 5 - l’m proud of all your efforts today, super blending of colour, creation of shape/texture and amazing attention to detail :)
