"Crackle and Sparkle"

The children were dynamic designers in the wild today, creating a fantastic masterpiece to look like fireworks in the night sky. Following the adults instructions, children practiced their scissor skills creating a fringe on their cardboard tubes. The children chose from an array of different colours to dip their fringed tube and then stamped out a pattern that looks like a firework. We encouraged lots of confident communication about colour mixing, bonfire night and spending time with family and friends as well as learning new vocabulary such as crackle, sparkle, whizz and pop. We finished off by warming up around the fire and enjoying a s'more, an opportunity to discuss safety and looking after our environment. Not forgetting to say a quick "Hello" to our chickens as we returned back to pre-school.
