Hannah Gold Virtual Author Visit

We recently attended a virtual author workshop with Hannah Gold, our school’s focus author, and it was an inspiring experience! She spoke passionately about her books, which all centre around incredible creatures like bears, whales, and turtles, highlighting the importance of protecting our planet and its wildlife. Her latest book, The Lone Husky, takes readers on a snowy adventure inspired by her own experience of “mushing” — husky sledging — during her research. We were amazed to learn that huskies can pull the weight of a small car across snow for up to 100 miles a day! We also had the exciting opportunity to meet Levi Pinfold, the illustrator of Hannah’s book, who showed us the fascinating process behind how he created the artwork. Seeing how the illustrations came to life added a whole new layer of appreciation to the story.
We were so excited to find out that she is creating a new bear book for world book day!
