Library Ambassadors at new consultation in Launceston

16th June 2024

On Friday afternoon six of our Library Ambassadors accompanied by our school librarian , Mrs. Grime, had the opportunity to visit the building that once housed Barclays Bank but will soon become the new Launceston Library! It was so exciting to actually be part of the consultation process and meet the architects from Hayhurst who are responsible for designing the new space. We were so delighted to have been invited to this important community meeting and to have our ideas and voice heard. Alongside other pupils from local schools we enjoyed drawing ideas of what we would like to have in the new library such as a quite cosy area, a cafe and comfy seating to relax and read in. Our ideas (in the style of stained glass windows) will be on display in the windows of the building by the time the summer market takes place on Saturday 29th June. Do come along and support this great project. Mrs. Grime said the children demonstrated excellent manners, cooperation and leadership skills. Well done Team St Stephens.
